American Flag Berry Slab Pie

If you’re looking for "wow" at your Fourth of July party, this berry-filled slab pie is the way to go. It comes together in almost no time and is a perfect way to treat a large crowd. Don’t forget the whipped cream! Full Recipe: https://ift.tt/2KrdgLb Notes This pie can be baked a day ahead of serving. Blind-baking the crust helps to keep the base from getting soggy. It’s important to let the pie cool for several hours before serving so the fruit sets and doesn’t run when cut. Steps for making the dough using a food processor: In a food processor, add the dry ingredients: the all-purpose flour, sugar and salt. Pulse a few times to combine. Scatter the frozen butter over the flour mixture. (Note: use frozen butter, rather than cold butter when using a food processor.) Pulse 3-4 times to break up the butter, then stream in the ice cold water through the food tube a couple tablespoons at a time, pulsing after each addition. (Careful: do not overmix! Butter pieces should be visible and about the size of peas to result in the flakiest crust.) https://ift.tt/2YoUJcd Bob's Red Mill August 04, 2019 at 09:12AM
